Quick
Start Guide
Get
up and running in less than 30 minutes by following the following
instructions:
1)
Download and install Instant
Quote Professional.
2)
Double-click the Instant Quote Professional icon that was placed
on your desktop during the installation process.
3)
When you run Instant Quote Professional for the first time, a Setup
wizard will open. Go through the Setup Wizard, you will be prompted
for information related to your company. After finishing the Setup
wizard, you will be ready to begin.
4)
Go the the Suppliers Screen. If "Cisco Systems" is not
already a supplier in the supplier dropdown list, then click the
Add button and add Cisco Systems. Click on the "Set as Default
Supplier" button.
5)
Download the latest .web pricing file from Cisco. Important:
Make sure you download the ASCII version of this file, as all other
versions can not be read correctly by Instant Quote Pro.
6)
Click on the Parts button, then Browse External Parts menu option.
Press the cancel button when you are asked to locate the files for
Tech Data and Ingram Micro. The E-Parts button is an external parts
browser that allows you to browse your Cisco Systems parts off-line.
7)
Click the "Setup / Import External Data / Update Options"
button on the External Parts Browser window. In the new window that
opens, click on the "Cisco Systems Options" tab.
8)
In the dropdown list "Use this supplier for...", select
Cisco Systems.
9)
Import your .web ascii file by clicking the browse button located
in the next box under "Use this Supplier...". After browsing
to the latest Web pricing file, click the "Import Web File
for External Browsing" button. All Cisco parts contained in
this file will be imported to the E-Parts window. Parts contained
in the E-Parts window are not available for adding to a quote until
you add them to Instant Quote Professional. It is not recommended
that you add all 20,000+ parts, as this can slow database performance.
The E-Parts window is designed to allow you to search Cisco parts,
then you can simply right-click the desired part and select "Add
to Current Quote". Or you may add entire categories of parts
permanently to Instant Quote by clicking the bottom button on the
main E-Parts screen.

Browse
to your pricing.web file to import parts
10)
Click on the "Combined Options" tab on the Advanced Setup
screen. Uncheck the "Use Tech Data" and the "Use
Ingram Micro" boxes. You will no longer be prompted to browse
to their files. In the list "When opening the external parts
browser, default to...", select "Cisco Systems".
11)
After importing your Web file, you are now ready to create quotes
for your customer. Go to the Customers screen and enter any customers
required for entering new quotes.
12)
Monthly, you will want to download the latest Cisco Systems ASCII
Web file, then go into the E-Parts window, advanced setup button,
and import the web file again as described in #9 above. After importing
a new Web file, you will want to update the parts that have been
added to the Parts screen in Instant Quote Pro. To do this, import
the Web file, then open the E-Parts screen, and click the button
"Update all matching CS Instant Quote Parts". All parts
will be updated where a match is found in Instant Quote Pro.
